| | Karma by Alicia Keys | ] | Today was my long day. I had 3 classes (Botany, Economics, Calculus) and a 3 hour lab!! I am so tired, but I can't take a nap because I can't fall asleep during the day. I'm messed up like that. Spring Break was great! It was so relaxing even though I had to work everyday. It was good to be away from school for a week. I wish spring break was longer. A 2 week vacation would be good. I pretty much hung out with my family. I felt like I did a lot more this break than I did over Christmas break, which is kind of sad and weird at the same time. It would be nice to go home before classes. I was thinking about going home on April 29 so that I could be home for my dad's birthday. Since it is also close to finals, I could start bringing home some stuff because I am not going to have much time to pack and bring all my stuff back home. I told Allison about it, but I don't know if she'll want to go with me. If she doesn't want to or if she can't go, then I can't go because we were going to use her car that's at her house. We'll see what happens. |

| | background to a game called Runescape that Allison is playin | ] | Tomorrow is the beginning of Spring Break!!!!!!!!!!! I am so happy!!!!!!!!!! All I have to get through is 3 classes, one of which is a test. After that, I can go home!!! I think my mom is the one coming to get me. Allison can't make it down this vacation. It would be nice if she could, but there is too much going on for her right now. I'll just have to drag her down during a weekend or she will come during the summer. It's no big deal. She has plenty of time to come. We are going to be roomies again next year and I'll have a car. It will be easier to get home that way and she can come down anytime she wants to.
Johnny Damon, Jason Varitek, Kevin Millar, Doug Mirabelli, and Tim Wakefield are going to appear on Queer Eye for the Straight Guy on June7th. I can't wait for it. I just hope I will remember that it is going to happen. I can't believe that they are going to appear on it. The only reason they are is probably because they are world series champs, but you never know. It was just a shock for me when I read about it happening.
I don't want to study for my calculus test. I think I understand everything, but I won't know until I actually take the test. It is my last class tomorrow, so I am going to anxious to finish early so that I have time to make sure I have everything I need to go home. I don't know. I guess I'll see tomorrow when I take it. |

| | Arabic Music | ] | I wish spring break would come faster. I want today to be Thursday so that tomorrow will be Friday and I will be able to go home!!! This weekend was good. I saw Finding Neverland on Saturday night. It was so good!!! It so deserved an Oscar! I cried at the end. It was a sad, but happy ending. On Sunday night, I went to see Fiddler on the Roof with Allison and her mom. It was playing at the local theatre downtown. It was awesome. It was the original Broadway cast. The guy that played Tevye, the main character, had starred in over 2400 Fiddler productions and he played Tevye in over 1100 of them!! He was really good. He was exactly like the actor who plays him in the movie. It was so unbelievably awesome!! I wish my mom and sister could have seen it. They would have loved it. I have to write 2 papers, take a math test, and ride out the rest of the week before I can go home. I don't want to go to CAB tonight, but I have to because I am an officer, which has its perks. Whatever, I need to stop complaining. I have the room to myself. Allison went down to Pennsylvania yesterday. She is coming back tonight, but not until late. I'll probably already be asleep. Oh well. |

| | a mix that i made | ] | YOU KNOW YOU'RE FROM BOSTON WHEN...
You think of Philadelphia as the Midwest.
You think it's your God-given right to cut someone off in traffic.
You think there are only 25 letters in the alphabet (no R's).
You think three straight days of 90+ temperatures is a heatwave.
All your pets are named after Celtics or Bruins.
You refer to 6 inches of snow as a "dusting."
Just hearing the words "New York" puts you in an angry mood.
You don't think you have an attitude.
You always 'bang a left' as soon as the light turns green, and oncoming traffic always expects it.
Everything in town is "a five minute walk."
When out of town, you think the natives of the area are all whacked.
You still can't bear to watch highlights from game 6 of the 1986 World Series.
You have no idea what the word compromise means.
You believe using your turn signal is a sign of weakness.
You don't realize that you walk and talk twice as fast as everyone else.
You're anal, neurotic, pessimistic and stubborn.
You think if someone is nice to you, they must want something or are from out of town.
Your favorite adjective is "wicked."
You think 63 degree ocean water is warm.
You think the Kennedy's are misunderstood.
WHEN WE SAY ________ WE MEAN...
Bizah - odd
Flahwiz - roses, etc.
Hahpahst - minutes after the hour
Hahwahya? - how are you?
Khakis - what we staht the cah with
Pissah - superb
Retahded - silly
Shewah - of course
Wikkid - extremely
Yiz - you, plural
Popcahn - popular snack
HOW WE'LL KNOW YOU WEREN'T BON HEAH:
You wear a Harvard sweatshirt.
You ask directions to "Cheers."
You order a grinder and a soda.
You follow soccer.
You eat at Durgin Park.
You pronounce it "Worchester" or Glouchester."
You call it "COPELY" square.
DEFINITIONS:
Frappes have ice cream; milk shakes don't.
If it's fizzy and flavored, it's tonic. Soda is club soda. Pop is dad. When we mean tonic WATER, we say tonic WATER.
The smallest beer is a pint.
Scrod is whatever they tell you it is, usually fish.
If you paid more than $6 a pound, you got scrod.
It's not a water fountain, it's a bubblah.
It's not a trash can, it's a barrel.
It's not a shopping cart, it's a carriage.
It's not a purse, it's a pockabook.
Brown bread comes in a can. You open both ends, push it out, heat it and eat it with baked beans.
They're not franks, they're haht dahgs. Franks are money in France.
THINGS NOT TO DO:
Don't call it Beantown.
Don't pahk your cah in Hahvid Yahd. They'll tow it to Meffa (Medford) or Slumaville (Sommerville).
Don't swim in the Charles, no matter what Bill Weld tells you.
Don't sleep in the Common.
Don't wear orange in Southie on St. Patrick's Day.
THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW:
There are two State Houses, two City Halls, two courthouses and two Hancock buildings (one old, one new).
Route 128 is also I-95. It is also I-93.
It's the Sox, The Pats (or Patsies if they're losing), the Seltz, the Broons.
The underground train is not the subway. It's the T and it doesn't run all night (fah chrysakes, this ain't Noo Yawk).
GETTING AROUND:
Pay no attention to the street names. There's no school on School Street, no court on Court Street, no dock on Dock Square, no water on Water Street. Back Bay streets are in alphabetical odda. Arlington, Berkeley, Clarendon, Dartmouth. So are South Boston streets: A, B, C, D.
If the streets are named after trees (Walnut, Chestnut, Cedar), you're on Beacon Hill. If they're named after poets you're in Wellesley.
All avenues are properly referenced by their nicknames: Comm Ave, Mass Ave., Dot Ave.
Dot is Dorchester, Rozzie Roslindale, JP is Jamaica Plain. Readville doesn't exist.
THE NORTH-EAST-SOUTH-WEST THING:
Southie is South Boston. The South End is the South End. Eastie is East Boston. The North End is east of the West End.
The West End and Scollay Square are no more-a guy named Rappaport got rid of them one night.
The geographical center of Boston is in Roxbury. Due north of the center we find the South End. This is not to be confused with South Boston, which lies directly east from the South End. North of the South End is East Boston and southwest of East Boston is the North End. Backbay was filled in years ago.
BASIC RULES FOR DRIVING IN BOSTON (subject to change at any time):
When on a one way street, stay to the right to allow oncoming traffic to pass.
Never, ever, stop for a pedestrian unless he flings himself under the wheels of your car.
The first parking space you see will be the last parking space you see. Grab it.
Double park in the North End of Boston, unless triple parking is available.
Learn to swerve abruptly. Boston is the home of slalom driving, thanks to the Registry of Motor Vehicles, which puts potholes in key locations to test drivers' reflexes and keep them on their toes.
Never get in the way of a car that needs extensive bodywork.
Always look both ways when running a red light.
Honk your horn the instant the light changes.
Breakdown lanes are not for breaking down, but for speeding, especially during rush hour. Breakdown lanes may also end without warning causing traffic jams as people merge back in.
Never use directional signals when changing lanes. They only warn other drivers to speed up and not let you in.
Making eye contact revokes your right of way.
Never pass on the left when you can pass on the right.
Whenever possible, stop in the middle of a crosswalk to ensure inconveniencing as many pedestrians as possible. And if a pedestrian ahead of you steps in the road, speed up loudly and chase him back up on the curb. Peds have no rights. |

| | tired | ] | I can't believe it's March already. Spring break starts in 2 weeks!!! I can't wait to go home. Allison might come down for a few days! We just got back from her house. Today was her dad's 44th birthday, so we went to her house to celebrate. It was good to have home-cooked food. It was so good. The cake was awesome too. I don't normally eat chocolate cake, but it was so rich and chocolate-ty. It was great. I got to see the alpacas again. If you want to see pictures, check them out at http://community.webshots.com/user/elock15. They are so cute. They are a little scary, but they are so cute. I'm going to the play tomorrow night. It's A Midsummer Night's Dream. I can't wait. Royale Tyler Theatre is so cool. I saw Antigone there last semester and it was so good. My brother called me tonight, which doesn't happen very often. He told me that Matt Damon stopped by the gas station to get gas today. I didn't believe him at first, but he kept reassuring me that it actually did happen. I was in shock! I was just like OMG!!! In case you are wondering, he was driving a Cadillac Escalade. I am so jealous. I wish my spring break was now so that I would have been there to see him! |

| | The Killers | ] | The past hour has gone by really slow and I am going nuts. I have a CAB meeting at 8:45pm in Slade and I don't want to go. I just finished my economics reading. I hate econ with a passion. I am pretty much done with all of my homework for tomorrow. This past weekend was great. I got to go home!! I was really happy to see everyone. It was good to get away from school for a little while. Allison was with Warren. He came up to see her. Isn't that sweet? They are so in love with each other. She had a great weekend too. When I was home, I just relaxed and enjoyed being with my friends. On Saturday, I pretty much sat around with my little brother and relaxed. I was supposed to something with Natalie, but she was already at the mall and she had speedskating that night. So, I had Chinese with my parents while my siblings went to the movies. They saw Hitch. My sister recommends it, so I should go see it. On Sunday, I took Amanda out shopping to make up for not doing it over Christmas break. We had fun. I got a lot of new jeans and a few shirts. It was good to spend time alone with her. We ate at Brighams and then went home. Unfortunately, it all ended Monday morning when my mom and Amanda brought me back up here to school. It was a horrible drive up. It was snowing and the roads were slippery and we passed 15 accidents!! My mom and sister ended up getting a hotel room for the night and they left this morning. They got home safe. My sister did some shopping at the UVM bookstore before they left, so she was extremely happy. I am now back into the routine of classes. Today wasn't bad. Tomorrow is going to suck. I have my lab, so I have classes straight from 9 until 3. I get so hungry because I don't have time to eat a lunch. Well, I am going to stop complaining. I have to go to a CAB meeting soon. It's at Slade tonight which sucks. I hate Slade. It's really gross inside. I don't know how people can live in the house. |

| | Bond | ] | It's official. I think Lebanon is going to break out into another civil war because of Hariri being assassinated. I really hope nothing else bad happens. I really want to go to Lebanon this summer and see my family!! Well, this weekend was good. I went to the Vermont Teddy Bear factory on Saturday to do some community service. I got it all done!! Allison and I went with Amanda Bryan's mom and her sorority. We got to dress the bears and put them in boxes. It was a lot of fun. Today was a good day. Except for the extremely long class of Latin American History, everything was good. I didn't have English today because of conferences we have with the professor. I don't have English on Thursday either!! I'm glad about that. I have CAB tonight, but then One Tree Hill is on right after!! Tonight's show is going to be very dramatic. I can't wait! Well, until next time! |
